My last post explained that failure is not fatal — it’s a feature. It forces growth and eliminates waste. The people who want to “democratize the economy” are really trying to abolish that feature. They want to protect failure from consequences.
This same mindset drives their attacks on our political system.
They push to abolish the Senate, pack the Supreme Court, or eliminate the Electoral College. What they’re really demanding is pure majority rule — mobocracy. Whoever has the most votes gets to do whatever they want.
Here’s a simple question that exposes how dangerous that idea is:
What if White Americans — who are still the majority — decided to pass laws that openly favored their own race above everyone else? “Whites first, the rest get whatever is left.” Would that be fair?
Of course not. Most people would rightly call that unjust.
But that’s exactly what pure majority rule allows. The group with the most numbers gets to impose its will on everyone else. Today it might be one group, tomorrow another. That’s not justice. That’s tyranny of the majority.
This is why the Founders created the Senate, the Electoral College, and the complex system of representation we have. They deliberately made it hard for any single group — even a numerical majority — to run roughshod over the rest of the country. Small states get a real voice. Minority rights are protected. Raw numbers alone don’t decide everything.
That system has survived and flourished for 250 years not because it’s perfect, but because it prevents exactly the kind of mob rule the left now openly craves.
The same people who can’t accept failure in the economy also can’t accept constitutional limits on political power. Both come from the same refusal to accept reality: life isn’t meant to be perfectly equal, and no group should have unlimited power over another.
We don’t need more pure democracy. We need to preserve the brilliant safeguards that keep us from becoming just another country ruled by whichever group happens to be the biggest at the moment.
Accountability. Assimilation. Allegiance.
Practiced permanently, prudently, pragmatically.
