The people pushing to “democratize the economy” never talk about creating wealth. They only talk about dividing it. They assume the pie is already baked and the only question is who gets the biggest slice. What they really want is a grab for somebody else’s product — the result of somebody else’s agency, effort, and risk.
This mindset shows up everywhere. They reject the idea that different people produce different results. They want a vanilla world where no one suffers consequences for weak effort. But surviving itself becomes catastrophic without that effort. The discipline of failure forces us to create, to improve, to strive. Remove that discipline and you don’t get fairness — you get stagnation.
Then they point to rising costs and blame the system. Rent, utilities, healthcare — all supposedly proof that the market failed. But more often than not, those costs went up because of their own policies. They add mandates and restrictions, then demand someone else absorb the higher prices.
Obamacare is the perfect example. It was sold as the panacea that would solve everything. Instead, costs doubled and tripled for many families. Now they’re pushing single-payer as the next “solution.” They created the bigger problem, then blame the system they built.
The same pattern repeats with rent and utilities. Zoning rules, environmental mandates, and building restrictions choke off supply. Prices rise. Then they demand someone else pay for the shortages they created.
A business can’t operate in a vacuum. If I’m selling a product or service, I need to make a profit to survive. But I also can’t price so high that I kill my own customers. I have to match my costs to what real people can actually afford. When government intervenes and forces features or restrictions that someone else must fund, that discipline disappears. The provider no longer has to balance cost against what the market will bear.
Then the higher prices get blamed on the “boogeyman” of the free market — when the intervention itself created the shortage and the price spike.
They don’t want to create. They just want to divide what others have already built. And when their policies make everything more expensive, they blame the very system that rewards effort and punishes waste.
Accountability. Assimilation. Allegiance.
Practiced permanently, prudently, pragmatically.
